Every site (building) a Fiber Technician visits requires a site design that can be passed on to engineers through the projects lifecycle to communicate the requirements. Often these designs were done on paper, in powerpoints, and however each engineer felt they could best document the design requirements. We spent time interviewing the various engineers throughout the design and installation process and incorporated the varying requirements needed to create these designs into a native iOS app. The app utilized the iPhone's built in lidar scanner to allow engineers to create annotated 3D designs while on location that could be shared and saved for all engineers involved now and in the future, ensuring clear communications as well as progress tracking for each fiber installation.
